Making math meaningful‍ ‍for all students.

Not just passing the test, building the thinker.

More than a tutor.
A learning partner.

Most tutoring fills in gaps for a test. MTM builds something bigger — a student who understands themselves as a learner and carries those skills into every class, every year.

  • Cindy teaches annotation, graphic organizers, and summarizing strategies tailored to each student's style. These tools shift students from passive learning — scrolling, watching, hoping it sticks — to active engagement where they're building their own understanding, in their own hand, in a form they can actually use.

  • Cindy has taught at the middle school, high school, and college level. She understands course sequencing, IEPs, 504 plans, school navigation, and where students need to go next — and she brings all of that to every session.

  • Weekly students receive between-session support for homework questions and concept clarification — plus written session materials after every meeting (PDF if virtual, paper or notecards if in-person), so students always leave with something tangible in hand.

From passive to active.
From cramming to
understanding.

Education is something you do, not something done to you.

Technology has made passive learning easier than ever. Students watch, scroll, and click through content and then wonder why it doesn't stay. The problem isn't the student. It's the approach.

The MTM Way

  • Annotating problems to build understanding

  • Reviewing and pre-learning on a cycle

  • Understanding why it works long-term

  • Using tools that fit your brain

  • Building on a foundation that holds

Passive Learning

  • Watching a video and hoping it clicks

  • Cramming before a test

  • Getting the right answer tonight

  • Following a generic worksheet

  • Needing to re-learn next year

Every student learns differently.
MTM meets them where they are.

Teaching math has always been about people, not problems.

After 25+ years in classrooms, from middle school to high school to college, Cindy knew she wanted to offer students something more than answers. She wanted to change how they see themselves as learners.

An avid gardener, Cindy thinks about students the way she thinks about plants: every one has its own growth cycle and optimal conditions for thriving.

Her job is to figure out yours.

  • Experience with IEPs, 504s, and diverse learning needs

  • Deep knowledge of how math courses sequence and connect

  • Homeschool & pod teaching experience

  • A library of vetted, personally curated student resources

Local roots.
Far-reaching support.

MTM students come from a wide range of schools and programs — public, private, religious, charter, cyber, and homeschool. No matter where your student is enrolled, Cindy understands how to work within that environment and support their specific curriculum.

Based in the Philadelphia suburbs, Cindy works in-person with students across the region and virtually with students across the contiguous United States.

What Families Say

Real results. Real students.

“Cindy has been an amazing math tutor for my son for the past two years. We tried several tutors before, and none were a good fit—he’s struggled with math since second grade and was convinced he just “doesn’t have a math brain.” Cindy helped him patiently fill in missing foundations, stay motivated, and keep going.”

— Liat H.

“I can not say enough wonderful things about Cindy! She is extremely knowledgeable, organized and easy for students to understand! My daughter’s confidence in math has changed tremendously since working with her!”

— Julie J.

“Cindy is fantastic! She helped my son build the algebra foundation he was lacking so that he could be successful in algebra 2. She also helped him with trigonometry and set up an SAT study schedule. He was just accepted early decision to a wonderful small liberal arts college, and I know Cindy was instrumental in that happening.”

— Alexandra M.
