My son was failing Algebra, and within 3 months had improved his grade to the point that he was earning As and Bs on all his quizzes, tests, and homework assignments. Cindy was very flexible — adding sessions as needed and then dropping back to one session per week once his grades improved.
Cindy’s teaching style worked well for my son. She would help him to look at a problem to figure out what it was asking, explained to him why certain aspects of Algebra were critical for skill building, and would work on problems simultaneously with him.
She got him to start thinking about Algebra in a completely different way that has worked well for him. I highly recommend Mum Tutors!

Cindy has tutored our daughter for over a year (from 7th to 8th grade). Our daughter’s performance in math has improved significantly during this time, mostly because she developed more confidence in approaching challenging math problems.
Cindy finds ways to explain math concepts to our daughter effectively, provides techniques, is always well prepared, provides appropriate practice problems, and is patient. Cindy is an excellent tutor, and we recommend her enthusiastically.

Ms. Mummert tutored our son in Algebra II and Geometry. His grades improved from Ds to solid Bs. She has a way of clearing away the confusion about math that so many kids experience. After each meeting with Ms. Mummert, I’d ask my son if he understood his work and assignments. He always replied, “I do now!”.
His time with her gave him an understanding and confidence that was missing from the classroom instruction. I would definitely recommend her services to any family!

I’ve known Ms. Mummert professionally for many years. When my son was in 7th grade, she started tutoring him. He was thrilled to have someone who could teach him the advanced math concepts he needed to continue to learn and stay ahead as a student in the gifted program at school. Ms. Mummert teaches each student at their own level, in a fun, fact filled session. I highly recommend her.

Cindy tutored our son for several years in junior and senior high school. She explained complex algebraic problems that allowed our son to understand them for the first time. He began solving problems on his own. Cindy built a great rapport and friendship with our son so that it made the work easier and, at times, fun. This allowed him to go from struggling in junior high to flourishing in senior high. Thank you, Cindy, for all your great work with our son. This enabled him to be successful at work and in college.

JL (parent and special education teacher) --
I taught with Cindy Mummert and have seen her work with students on many occasions. She is the rare math teacher who has complete mastery of math and the absolute ability to translate that knowledge to students of all levels and abilities. She is patient and has many ways to teach the material. She teaches study skills and strategies to assist students with learning and retention. The skills she teaches generalize to many areas of education and life. She is quite effective working with students who face a variety of challenges.
She has helped my own child, who had learning disabilities, master the concepts necessary to achieve high SAT scores. She helped many of my students who have learning and emotional disabilities. Her patience, knowledge, and understanding are very effective in pursuit of math competence.

LW (special education teacher) --
I was a special education teacher in a high school where Cindy taught math. Her math teaching skills are top notch. She excels with both gifted and challenged students. Cindy is passionate about teaching — and equally passionate about forming positive relationships with her students. Working closely with both students and parents is a winning combination. I highly recommend Cindy as a private math tutor.
